Mission

Many people buy a PC and do not have any knowledge of how to use it and no one in the household to help.

For many years I taught Computer Applications (introduction, wordprocessing and spreadsheeting in Lakeland Adult Education.

I became aware of the types of difficulty people have in learning how to navigate a computer. During the day I taught a programming course along with my regular physics classes in the high school (Walter Panas).

I started working with PCs in the late 1970’s, when they first came into general use (the TRS-80, Apple II).  At that time the only thing you could do was learn programming.

In the mid 1980’s, with the introduction of the IBM PC and later the Windows operating system, I started helping people with applications.  Now, of course, Practically all users of PC’s just use applications. But, along the way, the systems have become more complex. One can do amazing things with a computer today, assuming they have a good knowledge of the basic organization of the operating system (Windows for most).

So this brings me to this web page, my attempt to help beginners overcome hurdles so that they can effectively use their machine.
