I’ll call this set of questions Intermediate Beginners.  You know how to do all the stuff on the previous page, but get a bit stuck on more advanced material.

1 I found a web site that offered a free program.  I said I agree to the terms.  It said it was “downloading”.  What does that mean?  It said it was finished.  Now what do I do?

2 I keep getting messages on the screen I don’t understand.  What should I do about them?

3 People always tell me to “Back up your data”.  What does that mean and how do I do it?

4 This is a big one. How can I find out what’s stored on my computer?

5 The computer does not respond to anything I do, it just sits there with no response from the mouse or keyboard - what do I do now?
